Louie’s Café owners buy nearby Wendy’s that closed last year

The former Wendy’s restaurant near the LSU North Gates at 3322 Lake St.—which closed late last year—was sold Wednesday for $825,000 to Lake Street 3322 LLC, according to records filed with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court today. The buying LLC is represented by James Wetherford Jr. and Frank Duvic, who are listed as the president and vice president, respectively, of Louie’s Café Inc. on the Secretary of State’s website. Louie’s, a 24-hour diner, is located at 209 W. State Street—just around the corner from the Wendy’s. The seller in the deal was Diamond Land Co. LLC, represented by Donald L. Feinstein. In an unrelated deal recorded by the Clerk of Court today, the Louisiana Housing Corp., represented by Executive Director Frederick Tombar III, purchased a property at 11637 Industriplex Blvd. for $1,023,034.
