Local food blogger, taco truck to get national TV exposure

A local food blogger and a taco truck will soon be featured on national TV programs. Baton Rouge resident Jay Ducote, writer of the popular food blog biteandbooze.com, was one of 100 amateur chefs chosen to appear on the premiere episode of FOX Network’s new series, Masterchef. Ducote was flown to Los Angeles in February for the taping. Contestants on the show prepared their signature dishes and presented them to a panel of judges consisting of wine maker Joe Bastianich and chefs Gordon Ramsey and Graham Elliot. The show airs June 6 at 7 p.m.

Taco de Paco, a food truck business launched last year by Baton Rouge entrepreneurs Jared Loftus and John Snow, will be featured in an upcoming episode of the Cooking Channel’s Eat St. Filming, which will include customer interviews and live entertainment, will take place from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. May 14 at the NeuroMedical Center next to Perkins Rowe. The public is invited.
