Four local consultants have joined together to establish a new company, which plans to be involved in everything from lobbying and public policy, to staffing and worker training. Sable International is a collaboration of James Gilmore, Eric B. Lewis, Isaiah Marshall and Anita M. Tillman, who all owned small local consulting companies. Tillman says while the four all crossed paths on certain projects, they never all worked together until last month when they were answering a request from the city-parish for a diversity outreach consultant. “We realized we needed to all work together full-time,” she says.

By joining the four companies, Tillman says Sable is able to expand the services it can offer to clients. The new business plans to immediately hire two employees and hopes to add five to 10 workers by the end of the year. “We expect our business can grow quickly,” Tillman says. “People know the four of us, and they can see the synergy between us and that we’ll be able to do things independently we couldn’t do.”—Timothy Boone
