‘Live! With Kelly’ show in B.R. to profile Northeast High School teacher

As part of its annual Top Teacher Week, the TV show Live! With Kelly will visit Northeast High School in Baton Rouge to profile Monica Dunn, a business teacher and finalist for the show’s 2012 Top Teacher Award. As one of just five finalists, Dunn will have a show segment dedicated to her, which will air on May 16. The show is also flying her to New York for a live interview with the show’s host, Kelly Ripa. If Dunn is announced the winner the 2012 Top Teacher award on May 21, she’ll receive a 2013 Ford Fusion, and Northeast High School will get $25,000. Dunn, the youngest daughter of Roosevelt and Mattie Dunn, is a Southern University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in vocational education and a master’s degree in education administration and supervision. She has taught business for 13 years and is also the chairwoman of the school’s elective department, as well as its dance sponsor, internship coordinator, after-school clinic moderator and adult computer teacher.
