Live After Five temporarily moves to A.Z. Young Park

The spring edition of the Live After Five concert series will be held in A.Z. Young Park, near the State Capitol, to accommodate construction in Galvez Plaza. The first show is The Andy Smith Band on April 1. The fall series may be held there as well because of the work associated with the North Boulevard Town Square project. As part of the $5.7 million project, a new outdoor stage will be installed in the plaza. Also discussed at today’s Downtown Development District meeting, the railroad underpass and River Road improvements near Hollywood Casino have been completed. Developer Pete Clements describes the project as “phase one” of his planned River Park mixed-use development. Clements did not provide further details about the development’s progress. A ribbon cutting is planned to mark the project’s completion March 18. —David Jacobs
