A list of 11 finalists for the job of Baton Rouge Police Chief has been released. The initial group of 30 applicants was culled down by an advisory committee established by Mayor Kip Holden. The panel had been set to release a list of 10 finalists today, but they released an extra name. The finalists, listed in order of votes received, are: Lonnie Lockett, Troy Abney, Jamie Fields, Donald White, April Overman, David Cannon, Rudolph Babin, Willard Bates, Carl Dunn, Carl Dabadie and Todd Lee. Lockett, who garnered 15 votes, is a commander with the Police Department’s major assault division. Holden has asked the panel to further narrow the list to five finalists.
