Rapper Torrence Hatch, better known as Lil Boosie, pleaded guilty this morning to three counts of conspiring to bring drugs into a penal institution during a pre-trial motion and has been sentenced to eight years in prison, WAFB Channel 9 reports. Judge Mike Erwin sentenced Hatch, who requested drug rehab after hearing the sentence. Erwin said he could recommend it, but could not order it. Hatch, a Baton Rouge native, was arrested in the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola on May 26 for trying to smuggle codeine cough syrup into prison, where he’s been held since pleading guilty in September 2009 to a third-offense marijuana possession charge. Hatch was also indicted on a first-degree murder charge last year and is awaiting trial in that case. Read the full story from WAFB here.
