Business Facilities is a big fan of Louisiana Economic Development’s FastStart workforce development program, so much so that the New Jersey-based industry publication has named FastStart the nation’s best such program in the country for a sixth-straight year.
The No. 1 ranking is a part of the Business Facilities 2015 State Rankings Report, which annually gauges the competitiveness of state economic development programs and performance across the nation. Louisiana’s overall ranking for business climate is No. 3 on the magazine’s list this year, after having been named the top state in last year’s report.
In total, Louisiana netted five top five ratings in various categories that contribute to the overall business climate ranking. Among them, Louisiana is ranked No. 3 for high-wage manufacturing leaders, a new category added to the report this year. The magazine has placed Louisiana among the top five U.S. business climates for four consecutive years now.
