A midsize legal practice in downtown Baton Rouge has purchased a Beauregard Town office  building for $1.1 million.

The Baton Rouge office of Porteous, Hainkel and Johnson bought the offices at 301, 309 and 319 St. Charles St. from attorney Steve Marks.

Matthew Mann, a partner at the law firm, says the plan is for the firm to relocate from its current location in the Roumain Building on Third Street to its new offices by the end of the year.

Though there are three separate addresses, Mann says the purchase was actually for one office that is three connected buildings.

The law firm will occupy two-thirds of the space in the small office complex which spans roughly 7,000 square feet. The office is currently being leased back to Marks.

The building is located at the corner of St. Charles Street and Louisiana Avenue, across from Christina’s.
