Latter & Blum has acquired the residential division of ERA Stirling Properties. Latter & Blum, which does business in Baton Rouge under the name C.J. Brown Realtors, was already the largest real estate firm in the Gulf South. The new deal will increase the size of Latter & Blum by 25%, giving the firm over 1,200 agents and making it the 45th largest real estate brokerage house in the United States by home sales. Rick Haase, president of Latter & Blum, says the deal makes sense, because ERA Stirling and his firm share similar corporate cultures and a commitment to customer service. The deal means ERA Stirling will be able to concentrate more on commercial real estate. In Baton Rouge, C.J. Brown has 255 licensed agents, and ERA Stirling has 30. This is the second major move C.J.
