State Sen. Cleo Fields of Baton Rouge broke what may have been the least surprising political news of the month when he announced plans recently to run for the newly redrawn majority-Black 6th District currently held by Congressman Garret Graves. Fields appears to be the early favorite to take the seat and return to Congress.
