The Mississippi-based company that’s developing a 213-room upscale senior living facility within The Grove, the planned united development just off Interstate 10 behind the Mall of Louisiana, has purchased land for the development for just over $4 million.
Richard Carmouche, who is developing The Grove, sold 7.3 acres for $4,082,596 to Ridgeland-based Cardinal Ventures, which bought the property under a limited liability company called The Blake at the Grove—which is also the name of the senior center it’s developing.
The development is to include a community center, pool and fitness center, and maintenance building with associated parking. Among the 213 units within, some will be reserved for independent living, while others will be for assisted living and memory care.
Cardinal Ventures has a full or partial ownership stake in 10 senior living developments throughout the southeast and typically seeks out planned communities like The Grove in which to develop its facilities. This will be Cardinal’s first project in Baton Rouge. It has an affiliated company that owns and operates an upscale senior living community in Lafayette called The Blake at Lafayette.
