Louisiana posted the ninth-largest percentage gain in construction jobs during 2010, according to a survey of all states and the District of Columbia. The state had 2,300 more construction jobs in December than it did in December 2009, according to a report from the Associated General Contractors of America. That increased the number of Louisiana construction jobs by 1.8% to 127,400. Oklahoma, which added 6,100 construction jobs over the year, a 9.2% gain, saw the biggest percentage increase in the AGC report, while Texas added the most jobs over the year, 32,300. The AGC says 36 states lost construction jobs in 2010 and that nationally there were 93,000 fewer people working in the industry than the year before. Nevada saw the biggest percentage loss of jobs, posting a 19.1% decrease from December 2009.
