The percentage of Louisiana residents who are obese went up by 0.3 of a percentage point this year as the state remained the fifth fattest in the country, according to a CalorieLab report. Over the past three years, 31.5% of Louisiana residents have been classified as obese. Louisiana and Kentucky, which saw its obese population go up by 1 percentage point, were tied as the fifth-fattest states. For the sixth consecutive year, Mississippi was the fattest state in the nation, with 34.4% of the population classified as obese.
