For Kim Sanders it’s all about balance and priorities.

Sanders is devoted to her childhood sweetheart of 17 years, puts her family first and volunteers at the church she has attended since she was 11.

She is also a successful CPA with L.A. Champagne & Co., where she is only the second woman partner in the firm’s history.
Those who know her well say what makes her special is her ability to juggle family and career—her values and priorities intact—while giving tirelessly to many community groups with which she is involved.

Sanders is actively involved in her church in Denham Springs. She has served in the past as the junior high youth pastor with her husband, as well as serving on the advisory board. Sanders is also a past treasurer for the Family Resource Clinic in Livingston Parish, an organization for people going through troubled pregnancies.

While she is devoted to numerous causes, one that is most important to her is the Denham Springs Kiwanis Group, of which she is a founding board member and former president.

“They help raise funds throughout the year to buy Christmas gifts for teenagers,” Sanders says. “Last year, we helped about 25 families. We also provide scholarships.”

Sanders is also chair of the Denham Springs Christmas Parade.

Last year, Sanders’ efforts on the executive board of the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce helped the group win State Chamber of the Year honors. One of the chamber’s biggest projects was its Governmental Affairs Committee campaign for the widening of Interstate-12 to help traffic flow.

Despite her hectic schedule, Sanders believes in taking time to unwind and spend time with her family. They enjoy reading and traveling, espsecially camping in state parks.

She’s also an avid cook. In fact, she’s already thinking about her second career.

“I never really plan to retire,” she says. “My dream is to one day open up a bakery. I love to cook and my specialty is baking.”

But Sanders isn’t looking to start that anytime soon. For now, she is busy enjoying her first career, and intends to keep doing so for a long time to come.

“This firm has been around for 90 years,” she says. “I hope to be a part of its future.”

Always be positive, whether it be with clients or other business people.

We have a lot to offer from an entertainment perspective. We have the NFL (in nearby N.O.) college football, and shopping. Professionally, we have a lot of employment opportunities.

The infrastructure. I don’t know how exactly, but I’d like to make it flow better.

Right here, continuing to grow. This firm has been around for 90 years, and I hope to be a part of its future.
