Site work should begin in the next two weeks on a long-awaited Juban’s concept restaurant at the Highland Park Marketplace.

The owners of Juban’s announced today the new restaurant will be called Adrian’s, a name that is passed down in the Juban family, and is scheduled to open in the late spring or early summer of 2017.

Adrian’s will feature select signature Juban’s dishes—including its namesake, the Adrian, and the Hallelujah Crab. But owner Michael Boudreaux plans to introduce an otherwise unique menu.

“Adrian’s will be a vibrant dining venue, offering the same quality of food served at Juban’s in a more casual atmosphere,” Boudreaux says in a prepared statement.

The restaurant will be located in an 11,000-square-foot building—the third phase of Highland Park Marketplace, which will also house a Kean’s Dry Cleaner. The two establishments will be separated by a party wall, much like a townhouse. Adrian’s will be located under a Live Oak tree on the site as a courtyard entry. Kean’s will be located at the other end of the building with a drive-thru window.

Developer George Kurz and Jubans’ owners have been working on the project since 2012. When completed, Adrian’s will be the fourth Juban’s-owned eatery in Baton Rouge. Late last year, Juban’s owners acquired Christina’s downtown. They also partly own Beausoleil in the Bocage Shopping Center, and own and operate their signature restaurant on Perkins Road in the Acadian-Perkins Plaza.

Adrian’s is currently working with local agency, MESH, to develop the branding for the new restaurant, as well as with Mike Sullivan at LRK on the interior design of the building. Construction is expected to begin this fall.
