Gov. Bobby Jindal is heading to Iowa today to once again tout Mitt Romney. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee is overseas. Jindal spokesman Kyle Plotkin confirms the governor will be one of several Romney surrogates on the campaign trail this week while the former Massachusetts governor is traveling through England, Israel and Poland. Jindal has made several in-state and out-of-state appearances with Romney and on his behalf in recent weeks, fueling speculation that he’s on the short list of Republicans that Romney is considering as a running mate. Romney recently told NBC News: “I can tell you I’m not going to announce it this week. While I’m overseas, I’m not going to announce my vice presidential running mate. But when the decision is made, I’ll make that announcement. It’s not made yet.” Joining Jindal in Iowa will be Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, both of whom are also rumored to be on Romney’s short list of potential picks. Jindal and McDonnell will reportedly be a part of a bus tour today that is making stops in Davenport, Coralville, and Des Moines, Iowa.
