Gov. Bobby Jindal, gearing up for a re-election bid this year, ended 2010 with a campaign war chest of $9.2 million. Jindal raised $3.6 million in 2010. Most of that money came from small donors, says Timmy Teepell, Jindal’s chief of staff, with 77% of the donors giving $100 or less. Since Jindal was inaugurated in 2008, he has raised $12.3 million. That money came from more than 13,000 donors, 65% of whom are Louisiana residents. The governor so far has no announced competitors for his re-election, but he’s traveled extensively around the country to drum up campaign cash for himself and fellow Republicans. Jindal is set to release detailed fund-raising records to the Louisiana Ethics Administration Program later today.
