The Republican vice chairman of the House budget committee has been kicked off the panel after repeated clashes with Gov. Bobby Jindal’s administration over its budget decisions. Jefferson Parish Rep. Cameron Henry says he was told of his ouster from the Appropriations Committee earlier today. Henry says he believes House Speaker Chuck Kleckley removed him because he disagreed with Jindal over spending plans and recent budget cuts. He criticized a lack of leadership and information from the governor. Kleckley, who got his leadership role with Jindal’s support, didn’t immediately return a call to The Associated Press for comment. Henry’s dismissal comes one day after he sided with House opponents to Jindal’s proposal to outsource a state government employee health care plan to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana. A spokeswoman for Jindal, Shannon Bates, says the governor’s office didn’t ask for Henry to be booted from the committee.
