Gov. Bobby Jindal is interviewing his highest-ranking officials as part of the process of determining how he’ll piece together the second term of his administration. Most of his cabinet secretaries, numbering more than a dozen, have said they are seeking to return to their positions, and Jindal hasn’t indicated any intentions for a wholesale shake-up. Among the high-profile positions, the leaders of the health, transportation, homeland security and economic development offices have said they want to keep their jobs, along with the head of the Louisiana State Police. The Republican governor won overwhelming re-election two weeks ago, and the new term begins in January. Jindal’s first staff announcements came last week and concerned his chief of staff and communications jobs. Jindal’s spokesman says cabinet announcements will be made in the coming weeks.
