KBR, a global engineering, construction and services company, has opened an office in Gonzales. The regional operating center has between 20 to 30 employees. Houston-based KBR says it set up the Gonzales office to provide construction management and maintenance service to refineries, chemical plants, power plants and paper mills. While KBR had employees working out of local plants for a number of years, serving clients, this is the first satellite office the company has established in Louisiana. A company spokeswoman says the Gonzales site was set up to increase proximity to clients.
