Denham Springs-based Central Scales & Controls has been acquired by System Scale, an employee-owned industrial scale calibration and repair company based in Indianapolis.

All employees will be brought over to System Scale, and Central Scales & Controls owner John Sanders has taken a senior management position in the company, according to a news release.

“We’re excited to expand our reach in Louisiana. With existing locations in West Monroe, Louisiana, and Mobile, Alabama, we felt this was the perfect fit to cover both Central Louisiana as well as the Gulf Coast,” System Scale CEO Harry Dunavant says in a statement.

Details of the deal were not released.

The Denham Springs office becomes System Scale’s 13th location throughout the Midwest and South since its inception in 1979. System Scale became an Employee Stock Ownership Plan company in 1995, meaning it is 100% employee-owned.

Dunavant says System Scale will work to grow the business aggressively in south Louisiana.

“We are very pleased with their existing business model and will work to preserve the local customer service culture while adding further investments to create jobs and expand service offerings,” he says.

An open house is planned for May 11 at the Denham Springs office, 34624 La. 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for customers, the release says.

The company sells a variety of products, including industrial floor, truck and bench scales, as well as a custom HarvestWeigh scale for agricultural products.
