Give it time (“Do we really support public transit?,” Feb. 17) . The route is still brand new. LSU’s Garden District/Perkins route was empty at first and now it has people on it all day.

It is not the role of government to fund entrepreneurship (“Ecosystem needed for entrepreneurs,” Feb. 17). Government cannot force society to have goals or innovate. Society does not have goals; people have goals.

EMERGENCY IN MID CITY
Urgent care is not emergency care (“BR General Mid City ER to shut down March 31, plans announced to fill the gap,” Daily Report, Feb 20). If I have a heart attack or stroke or serious accident, urgent care is useless.

This is a Band-Aid to patch a problem that is far more serious than just a hospital closing its emergency department. Wait another 6 to 12 months to observe the effects on the other area emergency facilities (wait time, outcomes of care). Let’s also determine how many additional patients are being cared for by these urgent care facilities that are not obligated by federal law to care for non-emergent patients or patients who lack the funds to pay for their care.
