Editor’s note: Five S Development is a Baton Rouge company. The company changed its address about a month ago.

A Baton Rouge company plans to build a gated residential subdivision on roughly 40 acres of landit has purchased for $1.3 million on Hoo Shoo Too Road.

Five S Development LLC purchased the property from Robert H. Schmolke, according to documents filed late Friday with the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court. The property is currently vacant.

Trey Cline, who owns the company along with Andre Smith, says planning is still in the early stages and he doesn’t expect to break ground on the development anytime soon.

“It’s a long-term investment,” Cline says.

The planned development will be similar to Mallard Lakes, which is located just across Hoo Shoo Too Road from the property, the owners says. It will be strictly residential, gated, and have customized homes.
