Construction should start in May for the first homes in The Village at Magnolia Square TND. Jimmy Nunnally, who is developing the Central TND along with Steele Pollard, says the first 79 lots should be approved by early April. “We want to start as quickly as we can after that,” he says. Nunnally says there’s been “big interest” in the townhomes in Magnolia Square. Those properties will sell for between $250,000 to $300,000. “We’re selling a package of recreation and daily services all in one area,” he says. Around the same time work starts on the residential portion, building should start on the retail part of Magnolia Square. Specialty grocers, coffee shops and restaurants are looking at opening locations in the retail portion of the TND. Most of the potential tenants are “local people” who want a presence in Central, Nunnally says.—Timothy Boone
