Hollywood winnings up; Belle down

Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge saw its winnings go up 10.7% in July, when compared with the year before, while the Belle of Baton Rouge was down by 5.7%. Hollywood won $11.1 million in July, compared with $10.1 million in July 2010, according to figures released today by state police. But the Belle went from winning $6.7 million in July 2010 to $6.3 million. Overall, the Baton Rouge casino market was up 4.1%, from $16.8 million in July 2010 to $17.5 million. Louisiana’s state-licensed casinos won $224.3 million from players last month—a 2.2% gain over July 2010. State police say the 13 riverboat casinos took in $159 million, Harrah’s land casino in New Orleans won $24.4 million and the four racetrack casinos collected $37.9 million. In July 2010 the casinos won $219.4 million.
