John Price, Mayor Kip Holden’s assistant chief administrative officer and the mayor’s representative on the Planning and Zoning Commission, was tapped today by Holden to manage the implementation of the FuturEBR land use and development plan for East Baton Rouge Parish. Price will be responsible for coordinating the work of the Implementation Team, also recently appointed by the mayor, including the development of funding priorities. The city-parish Planning Commission is responsible for the day-to-day implementation and monitoring of the plan. The mayor’s office says it advertised the manager position and that the Implementation Team conducted a search for candidates but chose not to recommend an applicant to the mayor. Holden says Price is already working with the Planning Commission staff on issues that are coming before it and will assume the responsibilities of managing the Implementation Team immediately.
