Harb’s Oasis is permanently closing its Coursey Boulevard garden center and retail store by the end of the year.

While there isn’t an exact date set for the store’s closure, store manager Beth McWilliams confirms it will take place sometime before 2020. A going-out-of-business clearance sale began Oct. 2 and will continue as long as stock lasts, according to a recent Facebook post.

After more than 30 years of business in the Baton Rouge area, the garden center has grown into the largest water garden store in both Louisiana and Mississippi, carrying a wide variety of products, including plants, trees, fountains, statuary, pottery and fish.

Attributing the closure to slow business over the past three years, McWilliams says Harb’s Oasis will still continue offering services, such as cleaning and building fountains and ponds and, likely, landscaping services.
