A groundbreaking ceremony for the $5.7 million North Boulevard Town Square will be held Friday morning. U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu is set to attend the event, along with Mayor Kip Holden and Davis Rhorer, Downtown Development District director. The project, set for completion by January 2012, will turn the median of North Boulevard into a pedestrian-friendly area, along with reconfiguring the intersection of St. Louis Street. A new outdoor stage in Galvez Plaza is also included in the project.
