The four announced candidates in this year’s governor’s race will return to Baton Rouge next month for their second forum, this time focusing on small business issues. The panel discussion is sponsored by the National Federation of Independent Business, in partnership with the Louisiana Restaurant Association and Louisiana Retailers Association.
Public Service Commissioner Scott Angelle, Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne and U.S. Sen. David Vitter—all Republicans—as well as Democratic state Rep. John Bel Edwards are all scheduled to participate in the panel, which will be held Tuesday, March 31.
In January, all four candidates discussed the state’s infrastructure needs during a Baton Rouge forum that was the first to bring them all together. This morning, the four are all partaking in a forum discussion focused on education at the 77th Annual Convention of the Louisiana School Boards Association in Shreveport.

The primary election is set for Oct. 24. A runoff would be held Nov. 21 if none of the candidates receives a majority of the primary votes. Gov. Bobby Jindal is term-limited.
