“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive honor.” This is the next of seven qualities that we give to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in worship. We give what we have received. If one has not received much from God, based on who God is and what He has done for them, they have little to give in worship. Honor is respect or value that is given to someone who is admired. Honor is what God has bestowed on us. God has made us a little lower than Himself, and “has crowned us with glory and majesty.” (Psalms 8:5) Also, Ephesians 1:5-6 portrays the bestowal on us with honor. “In love He predestined to adoption as sons through Christ Jesus to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.” We are honored by making us royal sons and daughters. Nothing can make us richer or more valuable. God has freely bestowed on us a robe of the glory of His grace which is our sufficiency. So we are royal, graced with glory, and are beloved! What an honor. So as soon as you can, give Him honor in worship, and God will receive it.
