Galatorie’s Bistro has a new executive chef.

The bistro announced on Thursday that Chef DeWitt Ginn, formerly of Table Kitchen and Bar, will be taking over the kitchen at 3535 Perkins Road, Suite 400.

Ginn is following in the footsteps of Chef Kelley McCann, who served as Galatoire’s executive chef for 10 years before leaving the restaurant in August to start a new venture with local restaurateurs Chad Hughes and Brad Watt called Kalurah Street Grill.

“Chef DeWitt represents everything that Galatoire’s Bistro stands for—great food in a fun atmosphere that can be enjoyed anytime,” Melvin Rodrigue, president of Galatoire’s, says in a prepared statement.

Ginn is a graduate of the Louisiana Culinary Institute. He formerly worked under Chef Nathan Gresham at Beausoleil and worked with Chef Michael Sichel at Galatoire’s flagship restaurant in New Orleans prior to taking the helms at the Baton Rouge bistro.

Ginn says in a statement that he looks forward to serving up “my own Louisiana style of cooking while presenting the exceptional food that Galatoire’s has always been known for.”
