FuturePAC, the political action committee of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, announced today its endorsement of Jay Dardenne in his re-election bid for the office of lieutenant governor. Dardenne is running against Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser for the position on the Oct. 22 ballot. “Dardenne has a keen understanding of the business community’s needs and a proven track record that distinguishes him from his opponent,” says Pat Felder, chair of the FuturePAC board of directors, in a release. FuturePAC also announced it is backing Charles E. “Chas” Roemer IV, District 6, and Russell Armstrong, District 8, in their respective campaigns for the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education. FuturePAC says both candidates support changes within the education system that are crucial to economic growth in the Capital Region.
