Freshjunkie, a popular health food restaurant in the Main Street Market, is opening a second location at 303 North Blvd. in the space most recently occupied by Capital Creamery. Snappy Jacobs, who manages the property and adjacent buildings for owner Gregory Eaton, confirms he has signed a lease for the 400-square-foot space with Freshjunkie owner Pat Fellows, who plans to open the new restaurant this fall. “I think it’s a great complement to Town Square and will do very well there,” says DDD Executive Director Davis Rhorer. “What a great statement that they are putting up a second location downtown.” Fellows did not return a call for comment, but a posting on the Freshjunkie website says, “We were (and are) looking at lots of other spaces but this came up and was too good to pass up.” The North Boulevard space is in the heart of downtown and located prominently on the recently completed Town Square. Capital Creamery closed in late April, after its lease was not renewed. Owner David Le, who had purchased the business from its founding owner in 2008, told Daily Report at the time that sales were only strong when there were big events downtown. —Stephanie Riegel
