Former Sen. Mike Michot, 48, who, being term limited, recently retired from the Louisiana Legislature after 16 years, announced today he’s starting a new career with governmental affairs and business consulting firm The Picard Group. Michot, former chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, will serve as senior policy Adviser for the firm, which has offices in Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Washington, D.C. In compliance with state ethics laws, Michot is not allowed to lobby the Louisiana Legislature for at least two years. Joining Michot at the firm will be his longtime legislative aide, 34-year-old Josh Borill of Crowley, who is taking on the role of deputy public policy adviser.
