In the market for a former school campus in Baton Rouge? You’re in luck.
The former site of Redemptorist High School at 4000 St. Gerard Ave., which closed in May, hit the market for lease today—at a rental rate of about $3 per square foot, or $23,853 per month.
According to a listing of the property, the campus includes about 13.6 acres of land in total, including 95,412 square feet of school facilities with an administration building, classrooms, computer room, biology and chemistry lab, library, gym and football field equipped with stadium seating, press box, concession stand and outdoor lighting.
It’s also fully furnished.
“All furniture, desks, chairs and tables used by the school will remain as part of this lease offering,” reads the listing by Chris and Bill Gremillion of NAI/Latter & Blum. “The property can also include a 9.15-acre baseball field, which is listed for sale for $750,000 by separate listing agreement.”
The listing notes the adjoining property is occupied by St. Gerard Elementary School and will continue to operate as such by the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge, which had operated Redemptorist High. As such, the Redemptorist site cannot be leased for use as an elementary school, the listing notes.
“The school is available in all or part, but the gym and football field cannot be leased separately,” reads the listing, which you can see online.
The property, built in 1947 and renovated in 1998, is said to be “well maintained” and “in good condition.” It is zoned A-2 and includes 180 off-street parking spaces.
