Forbes to speak at a pair of LSU events in March

Steve Forbes, president and CEO of Forbes Inc., will be in Baton Rouge in March to speak at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Business Education Complex at LSU and serve as keynote speaker of the university’s 2012 Hall of Distinction Banquet & Donor Recognition Ceremony. Both events will be held Friday, March 2. “Obviously, the name Forbes is synonymous with business around the world, and it is a true testament to the E. J. Ourso College and LSU that he has agreed to be a part of what will truly be a momentous day in the history of our college,” says the dean of the E. J. Ourso College of Business, Eli Jones, in a prepared statement. Featuring four buildings and 156,000 square feet of space, the Business Education Complex has been under construction since March 2010. It is located next to the college’s current home, Patrick F. Taylor Hall. According to Jones, Forbes will also attend a breakfast on March 2 with LSU Chancellor Mike Martin and approximately 25 invited guests. Forbes will also lunch with Jones and the members of the Dean’s Advisory Council and Louisiana Business Building Oversight Committee.
