A Clearwater, Florida-based franchisee has bought the three existing Dunkin’ Donuts locations in Baton Rouge and says it has plans to open more in the Capital Region. Financial terms of Panama City Donut Network’s purchase of the three stores was not disclosed, nor are possible locations for the additional Baton Rouge area donut shops.
The first of the two additional new locations is planned to open in the fall of next year, with the second expected to open in 2017, according to a news release issued today.
The Baton Rouge locations sold are at 8121 Florida Blvd., 2698 South Sherwood Forest Blvd. and 9837 Bluebonnet Blvd. Led by Vik Patel, Panama City Donut Network will manage and oversee the operations for the restaurants.
Patel has been a franchisee with Dunkin’ Donuts for nine years, and he currently operates 27 restaurants in Florida and two in Alabama. He says additional franchisee opportunities are available in Baton Rouge, as well as in other Louisiana cities including Alexandria, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Monroe and New Orleans.
“We are excited to expand the brands’ presence in Louisiana and play an important role in the daily lives of people who live, work and visit here,” he says in a prepared statement.
To help fuel growth in Louisiana, special development incentives are available which include reduced royalty fees for three years and up to $5,000 in local store marketing support for timely openings, Patel says. More details on franchisee opportunities are available in the full release.
Founded in 1950, Dunkin’ Donuts is based in Canton, Massachusetts and has more than 11,400 restaurants in 39 countries worldwide.
