The first companies that will participate in the Springboard Baton Rouge accelerator program include, as described by John Schneider, managing partner of Springboard and Vision City Development Group:
• Vivid Images: Will help create customized, multicolor email blasts. Schneider calls them a “potential Instagram.”
• Grantware: Developing a software program meant to greatly speed the grant reporting process.
• PunchList: Developing a program that would allow contractors, subcontractors, architects and others to share project information on mobile devices in real time.
• Site Side: Would help connect truckers to potential customers.
• RQR: Would help sight-impaired people to gather information about the world around them through mobile devices.
The first three companies in line to potentially receive backing from Capital Regions Venture Partners are:
• CleanTech Technology: Recycles tires by reducing them down to their component ingredients.
• My Health First: Developing a mobile app that would help black women create a personal health plan.
• Videoavatars: Has developed an advertising format, with campaign results measured by real-time video analytics. The firm is part of the Amsterdam-based Rockstart Accelerator Class of 2012.
• Schneider also expects the fund will be involved in a $3 million film called Something Evil, shooting next year.
