Ferrara Fire Apparatus of Holden has been awarded a contract with the City of New York Fire Department to provide 21 more aerial ladder trucks. The $22 million contract comes on top of an earlier deal for Ferrara to build 20 aerial ladder trucks for the FDNY. Paul Christiansen, a Ferrara spokesman, says the company is halfway through the first order, delivering two or three trucks a month to the city. “We built what the city asked of us: a heavy duty truck with a comfortable crew area, a high-performance straight stick ladder, and a stainless steel cab and body built like no other,” says Chris Ferrara, president and CEO.
