Political blogs across Louisiana are buzzing about Caroline Fayard’s tough talk at a Democratic Party banquet in Washington Parish last week. Fayard, who did surprisingly well in her race for lieutenant governor last year, told the crowd, “I hate Republicans. I hate Republicans,” according to The (Bogalusa) Daily News. “They are cruel and destructive. They eat their young.” Fayard reportedly said she didn’t hate conservatives, noting that she was “very conservative” and pro-life. While there has been speculation Fayard could end up as the Democratic challenger to Gov. Bobby Jindal this fall, she remained noncommittal on running for office. “I will be heavily involved (in the fall elections),” Fayard said, according to The Daily News. Read the full story here.
