Executives to converge on New Orleans for Petrochemical Engineering & Construction 2016 conference

More than 700 petrochemical executives from across the Gulf Coast will gather in New Orleans next month for the Petrochemical Engineering & Construction 2016 Conference.

The event takes place June 7-8 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

This year’s event focuses on managing petrochemical projects. Speakers from a number of companies with a Gulf Coast presence—including Shell, Dow, Lyondellbasell, BASF, Yuhuang Chemical, Sasol, Lubrizol, Valero and NOVA Chemicals—will be featured.

Sessions include the projected labor risk on the Gulf Coast, addressing the skilled craft labor shortage, project management, modularization and productivity. Some sessions are focused specifically on the petrochemical expansion in Louisiana.

Louisiana Chemical Association President Dan Borné will help kick off the first day of the conference with a session on the “petrochemical renaissance in Louisiana.”

Jerry Oliver, vice president of manufacturing and projects for Yuhuang Chemical, will present a case study on building a plant and a business in Louisiana.
