As an attorney specializing in business and tax law, Van Mayhall Jr. often deals with family enterprises. The work is rewarding, in part because those enterprises are sometimes the most important thing in the world to the people involved. Mayhall and his wife Lorri enjoy boating, especially on the Tchefuncte River in St. Tammany Parish and on Lake Pontchartrain.
