Mitch Wasden heads Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge. Ochsner is a nonprofit academic health organization, among the largest of its kind in the nation. Wasden holds a doctorate in human and organizational learning from George Washington University. He also holds a master’s degree from the University of Michigan in healthcare management and a bachelor’s in history from Brigham Young University. Wasden has been involved in the health care industry for 15 years. What is the greatest personal or professional obstacle you’ve overcome?
Starting a medical device company one week after 9/11 and having most of our venture capital funding disappear. Luckily it all worked out and we sold the venture to a publicly traded company three years later.
