For Francis Grayson, 50, hospitality is a way of life. A veteran of the hotel industry, he currently operates the Hotel Indigo in downtown Baton Rouge, of which is also a partner. Hotel Indigo is a “boutique hotel” with upscale amenities and loft-like accommodations. “I’m proud that we have the most unique hotel experience in the city,” Grayson says. “I was a bagger at Kroger’s in Monroe. It was actually a tough job. An early job that taught me a lot of great lessons, some of them hard, was [working] as a waiter at Chi-Chi’s Mexican Restaurant. That ended badly for me, but it taught me a valuable lesson.”
