Not many people would call the insurance business exciting, let alone fascinating. But Bobby “Boots” Adams, owner of Integra Insurance Services, is among those who does.
As Business Report details in its new Executive Spotlight feature on Adams, it was after working for three large companies early in his career that he decided to build a business that could compete with corporate America without acting like corporate America.
Since launching Integra in 2002, Adams has grown the business, which offers a wide variety of insurance coverages, through old-fashioned hard work and effective management of his client relationships—though he’ll be the first to tell you the success hasn’t come without some mistakes along the way.

What is your favorite city to travel to in the U.S., and why?
“My favorite city is Chicago. I went for the first time in 2007 and fell in love with the city. To choose one reason alone would be difficult, but I’d say the history, food, sports, topography, Lake Michigan and the people make it a great city.”
