Former Gov. Edwin Edwards, who is set to complete his federal prison sentence, says he’s talking with producers about a reality show dealing with his personal life. Edwards made the announcement on his Facebook page. Edwards, who turns 84 in August, says on Facebook he is engaged to Trina Scott, an Alexandria woman who is about 50 years his junior. “No further details at this time, but I will say that it is in the developmental stages!” Edwards wrote, referring to the proposed show. Edwards went to jail in October 2002 on a 10-year sentence for a bribery and extortion scheme to rig Louisiana’s riverboat casino licensing process during his final term in office. He has maintained his innocence. He was released in January and has been serving the final six months of his sentence in a halfway house in Denham Springs. Edwards has nearly 4,100 Facebook friends.
