Essen Lane will be closed at the Interstate 10 overpass for two nights next week, to allow crews to demolish the old overpass. The closures are set for midnight to 5 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Drivers are asked to use alternate routes, but emergency vehicles will be allowed access through the Essen Tunnel. The work is part of the six-laning of I-10 from the split to Highland Road and of Interstate 12 from O’Neal Lane to Juban Road. The work should be completed by 2013.
