The success of Louisiana’s FastStart program has caught the attention of The Economist. The magazine praised FastStart in a story in its Aug. 27 issue about efforts to create jobs. It called FastStart “probably the most notable statewide workforce-development initiative” in that it helps to recruit and train workers for companies who commit to creating a number of net new jobs. The program has helped companies “get over their hang-ups about the South,” says The Economist. Read the article here.
