The East Baton Rouge Parish School System has been recommended for district accreditation as a quality school system, the highest honor a system can receive. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools’ Council on Accreditation and School Improvement recommended the East Baton Rouge schools get the honor because it met the quality standards. School Superintendent Charlotte Placide says only 11 other school districts in the state have gotten accreditation. “This distinction is quite an honor and serves as evidence that our school system has the resources and processes in place to continue its current trend of improvement,” she says.
